My first trip in Sri Lanka…

...we left Colombo by night to avoid the traffic and arrived in Habarana at 3am in the morning. We had a big house with a pool for 10 of us. We also had cooks included in the price. They always made us lunch and dinner,

how nice is that? ;-) After we arrived we had a sleep for about 4h and went right away to the Golden Temple of Dumbulla. Furthermore we climbed up the mountain and examined the Buddhist Temple with all its caves. The statues were in 5 caves telling stories about Buddha and his behaviour. Very interesting. On the next day we experienced a wild Elephant Safari, in the beginning it was very hard to find the elephants, but we saw them. It was amazing, and the best thing was that I was allowed to drive the Jeep. Crazy driver…

After being very exhausted we had a drink at the Habarana Lodge and enjoyed the beautiful sunset.

New Apartment

On the following pictures you can see my new apartment. First it was clean and tidy and then it was full of people and dirt because of my House Warming Party. I moved the third time within 7 weeks and I am very happy about this place, especially for Sri Lankan standard. It is very hard to find nice places for a reasonable price located in the city in Colombo. Anyway, it has two bedrooms, a big living room as you see a kitchen and a bathroom. I hope we will feel comfortable there for the next few months.
